OPIA Wandering

Created in collaboration with some of the OPIA artists performing at the 2024 OPIA festival (Utrecht, 2nd June), we asked the artists to provide a sound on the theme of ‘travelling’ - from sounds of the rainforest to a Balinese Gamelan used in Kiasmos’ latest album - which we then pulled, stretched and mangled into 13 unique and wandering presets.

Featuring sounds from: Davidsson, Eydís Evensen, Kiasmos, Lara Somogyi, Martijn Naber, Robin Scherpen, Sandrayati, Shida Shahabi, Sofi Paez, Svaneborg Kardyb, Zuzanna Całka.

Opia

In the spirit of creative collaboration, these unique sonic textures have been created by Ólafur Arnalds and a talented line-up of artists: Kiasmos, VAAL, Rhye, Poppy Ackroyd, Högni & Ensemble, Grandbrothers, Hania Rani & Josin. For Opia (meaning: the ambiguous intensity of looking someone in the eye), each artist submitted a sample that means something to them — from the sounds of ice skating, to pianos — warped by our expert team to create entirely new and unconventional textures.

An ethereal collection of sounds created with vocals, double bass, electric guitar, saxophones and more. Performed by a talented group of musicians and sculpted by the Spitfire Audio team, these range from beautiful and beguiling, to dark and atmospheric — perfect for adding depth and character to your scores. Made in collaboration with the charity Abram Wilson — an organisation dedicated to providing equal opportunities for underrepresented talent in the music industry. Sounds by: Naima Adams · Emma Johnson · Plumm · Sans Soucis · David Austin Grey · Daniel Kemshell · Joe Downard · Shereece Storrod.

Add the sound of nature to your track or score with this stunning selection of synth-like textures, created from organically-sourced field recordings. Captured in the English countryside, samples of thunder, rain, wind and birdsong have been combined and manipulated by Spitfire Audio in-house composer, Dan Keen, to create this truly unique set of atmospheric soundscapes.
